Phagocytes simplified

You can't have pizza!
We have all got that one friend who is as large hearted (and large tummied) as their appetites. Phagocytes are just like that!

They don't want any harm happening to anyone, they smell trouble and get to the site in a jiffy (by a process called chemotaxis) and then, they quickly gobble down anything that seems pathogenic (with a muffled giggle!)

They always have a few crumbs left hanging from their overgrown mustaches (they are antigen presenting cells), an evidence of their gluttony.

That's why we call them totally hungry.
Their names? Macrophage, monocytes, neutrophils & dendritic cells!
